Root privilege escalation via insecure cwrapper_perl permissions
Published Jan 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Privilege escalation in Centreon Infrastructure Monitoring Software 19.10 and earlier allows local users to gain root privileges. The cwrapper_perl setuid executable permits Perl scripts to run as root, while insecure permissions expose that privileged execution path to low-privileged accounts. Exploitation requires local access and an existing low-privileged account, after which arbitrary Perl code runs with root authority.
