Authenticated OS command execution via unescaped NetFlow filter
Published Jan 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
OS command injection in Pandora FMS 7.0 NG allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary OS commands through a crafted NetFlow request. The netflow_get_filter_arguments function concatenates the ip_src value into an nfdump command that netflow_get_stats passes to exec without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Any authenticated console account that can submit the live NetFlow view request can execute commands with the web application service account's privileges.
