CVE-2019-20191Public exploitNetwork attack vector

File disclosure via external entity expansion

Published Mar 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

XXE in Oxygen XML Editor 21.1.1 allows context-dependent attackers to read process-accessible files through crafted XML documents. The embedded XML parser resolves external entities without adequately restricting the file locations it opens, causing entity URIs to load local resources. Exploitation requires an XML document with embedded DTD and entity declarations plus knowledge of the target file location; disclosure is limited to files readable by the Oxygen process.
