Credential disclosure via cleartext introduction email
Published Feb 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cleartext transmission of sensitive information in MFScripts YetiShare 3.5.2 through 4.5.4 allows remote attackers to obtain initial passwords via email. The user-introduction email embeds the system-generated initial password without requiring encrypted transport, exposing it to network interception. Exploitation requires an email delivery path that remains cleartext; intercepted credentials can enable account access, while no integrity or availability impact is reported.
