Remote service interruption via crafted IEC-104 packets
Published Feb 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Improper input validation in HUSKY RTU 6049-E70 firmware 5.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to reboot the device via crafted packets. The IEC 60870-5-104 service on TCP port 2404 accepts a malformed packet that can break the authenticated master-slave connection or restart the RTU. No authentication or user interaction is required; exploitation interrupts active control communications or reboots the field device.
