Command execution via unsanitized exported ticket subject
Published Apr 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Formula injection in SolarWinds Web Help Desk 12.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via an exported ticket subject. The grouped-ticket TSV export at TicketActions/view?tab=group writes a low-privileged user's Subject value as a spreadsheet cell without neutralizing leading formula characters. An administrator must export and open the TSV and interact with the malicious cell, after which the spreadsheet can visit an attacker URL or execute a command.
