UAC disablement via replaceable Agent configuration
Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Improper permissions in IXP EasyInstall 6.2.13723 allow local users to disable UAC for all users through the Agent Service. The privileged Agent Service trusts the user-writable %SYSTEMDRIVE%\IXP\DATA\IXPAS.IXP configuration file, so a replacement directs it to turn off UAC after a reboot. A non-administrative authenticated account must rename and replace the file; the resulting UAC shutdown lasts until the next reboot.
