Sensitive-information interception via encryption-key flaw
Published Jan 13, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Risky cryptography in Mitel SIP-DECT 8.0 and 8.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept sensitive information. Mitel identifies an encryption-key flaw but does not disclose the affected key operation or explain how untrusted network input defeats it. Exploitation requires prior compromise of the internal wired corporate network and a man-in-the-middle position, and the documented consequence is interception of sensitive information.
