Authenticated command execution via unchecked sysCmd parameter
Published Jan 27, 2020 · Updated Aug 28, 2024
OS command injection in TOTOLINK Realtek SDK router firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via sysCmd. The boafrm/formSysCmd handler passes the sysCmd form value to the device's OS command path even when the syscmd.htm page is absent. Access to the router administration interface and valid credentials is required; successful execution grants control over the device internals.
