CVE-2019-19753Known exploitationNetwork attack vector

Server impersonation via image-wide SSH host keys

Published Apr 30, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Hard-coded SSH host keys in SimplePod.ai SimpleMining OS through 1259 allow remote attackers to impersonate SSH servers. The installation image contains SSH host keys generated before imaging, causing separate rigs to present the same public fingerprint and share the corresponding server identity. An attacker who obtains the reused private key and can intercept an SSH connection can impersonate a rig, while the exposed public fingerprint also identifies affected Internet-facing systems.
