Authenticated command execution via unfiltered archive path
Published Jan 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
OS command injection in rConfig 3.9.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary system commands through an HTTP request. The ajaxArchiveFiles.php handler passes the GET path parameter directly to exec without validation or shell escaping. A valid authenticated session is required, after which injected shell metacharacters run commands with the web server process's privileges.
