CVE-2019-19505Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unsafe hostname copy

Published Jun 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in Tenda PA6 firmware 1.0.1.21 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted wireless hostname. The httpd Wireless Access Control handler copies the supplied hostname byte by byte into a fixed stack buffer without bounds checks, allowing return-address overwrite. Access to the management web UI and authentication are required; exploitation can run code with root privileges or crash the service.
