Root-shell exposure via DNS-rebound configuration requests

DNS rebinding in the Technicolor TC7230 STEB 01.25 web interface allows remote attackers to expose an internal TELNET root shell. The interface accepts configuration requests from a browser after attacker-controlled DNS changes the origin address to the modem. A victim on the modem's local network must visit an attacker-controlled page; JavaScript then creates a TELNET port forward that grants external root-shell access.
