Host processor halt via stale ITLB translation

Denial of service in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 kpatch allows guest OS users to halt the host processor via an instruction fetch. The incomplete live patch leaves a page-size-change window in which an instruction fetch consumes a stale ITLB translation before invalidation. Exploitation requires a privileged guest on an affected Intel virtualization host; the resulting machine-check error stops the host CPU and its guests.
