Service interruption via unbounded per-packet processing

Resource exhaustion in Siemens SCALANCE and SIMATIC devices allows remote attackers to interrupt service through crafted TCP packets. The VxWorks-based PROFINET TCP stack performs computation-expensive calls for every incoming packet instead of bounding per-packet processing. Unauthenticated network access is sufficient; repeated packets consume processing capacity without reported data exposure or modification.
