Credential disclosure via cleartext FTP log storage
Published Mar 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cleartext storage in Siemens CCS before 1.5.0 and SiNVR/SiVMS Video Server before 5.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to extract FTP logins. The enabled FTP services write users' login credentials into log files without protecting the stored secrets. A valid FTP account and an enabled FTP service are required; exploitation discloses other users' credentials without altering data or interrupting service.
