Concealed administrative actions via service-user creation
Published Mar 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Insufficient logging in Siemens SIPORT MP before 3.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to create concealed administrative service users. The account-creation workflow assigns administrative privileges to service users while omitting their actions from visibility to other users. Existing high-privilege access is required; the concealed account can grant physical access to secured areas without other users seeing the action.
