CVE-2019-19168

Code execution via attacker-controlled ActiveX arguments

Published May 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Code execution in Dext5.ocx ActiveX 5.0.0.116 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to run arbitrary files via method arguments. The control accepts attacker-set method arguments designating a remote file, then downloads and executes it; the affected method is undisclosed. A Windows user must interact with content that invokes the control; successful exploitation runs code in that user's context.
