Code execution via unverified downloaded DLL loading
Published Jun 30, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Untrusted search path handling in TOBESOFT MiPlatform 2016.5.26.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a DLL. CyMiInstaller322 ActiveX downloads application files without sufficient verification, after which MiPlatform loads an attacker-controlled DLL. Exploitation requires high privileges over a network-reachable installer workflow and executes the DLL in the MiPlatform process context.
