Firmware replacement via unauthenticated upload handler
Published Jan 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Missing authentication in Intelbras WRN240 firmware 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to replace device firmware over the network. The incoming/Firmware.cfg handler accepts a multipart POST containing a firmware image without validating an administrative session. Network access to the router management interface is sufficient, and a successful upload replaces the trusted system image.
