Unauthenticated script execution via unsanitized p parameter
Published Feb 26, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Reflected XSS in Hero Maps Premium 2.2.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted p parameter in a victim's browser. The public dashboard endpoint inserts the p query value directly into page HTML or JavaScript without output encoding, allowing an SVG event handler to run. Exploitation requires an unsuspecting user to open the crafted URL; the injected code runs in the affected site's origin and can read accessible session data or act as that user.
