Sensitive database extraction via unsanitized quota sorting
Published Mar 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
SQL injection in the quotas API of CNCF Harbor 1.7.0 through 1.8.5 and 1.9.0 through 1.9.2 allows remote authenticated users to read database data. In quotaOrderBy, the sort parameter becomes a field expression passed to castQuantity, which inserts it without sanitization into a raw SQL statement. Harbor administrator privileges are required for direct access, and successful exploitation exposes sensitive information stored in the backing database.
