Unauthenticated vCard access via missing authorization
Published Mar 20, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Authentication bypass in Rock RMS before 1.8.6 allows remote attackers to obtain people’s vCards through the People/GetVCard REST controller. The vulnerable handler served vCard content without the authentication and security attributes added by the fixing commit, allowing requests for arbitrary person identifiers. Network access to the REST endpoint is sufficient and the demonstrated consequence is disclosure of contact information; no evidence establishes data modification or service interruption.
