Incorrect permission assignment in Dell EMC XtremIO X2 XMS before 6.3.0 allows local users with xinstall privileges to gain root access. Dell identifies the affected locus only as XMS permissions and does not disclose the critical resource or operation that assigns them incorrectly. Exploitation requires an existing local xinstall-privileged account and grants full control of the management server.
