Device outage via crafted PROFINET packets
Published Mar 10, 2020 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Resource consumption in affected Siemens controllers allows remote attackers to force defect mode via crafted PROFINET packets to TCP port 102. Siemens identifies the exposed PROFINET service but has not published the packet fields or resource-handling operation that triggers defect mode. Network access to the port is sufficient without authentication or user interaction; recovery requires restarting the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
