Unauthorized tag-data disclosure via analysis attributes
Published Jan 15, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Improper access control in AVEVA PI Vision before 2019 allows remote authenticated users to read unauthorized tag data through analysis attributes. When a display evaluates analysis data reference attributes, PI Vision returns underlying tag values without enforcing the viewer's intended authorization. A valid PI Vision account and a reachable affected display are required, and disclosure is bounded by the permissions of the PI Vision application-pool identity.
