CVE-2019-17603Public exploit

Kernel code execution via unchecked IOCTL buffer copy

Published Jun 2, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Ene.sys in ASUS Aura Sync 1.07.71 and earlier allows local users to crash Windows or execute kernel code. The affected IOCTL handlers pass a user-controlled buffer and length to memmove without bounds validation, allowing a stack return address to be overwritten. An unprivileged local process that can open the EneIo device can gain kernel privileges or crash the system.
