Unauthenticated command execution via unvalidated MAC parameter
Published May 14, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Command injection in Apache CloudStack before 4.13.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute shell commands through a crafted bare-metal MAC value. The bare-metal virtual router's provisiondone handler sends the URL mac path parameter to shell processing without validating command metacharacters. The bare-metal service must be deployed and reachable on TCP port 10086; successful requests run arbitrary commands in the virtual router.
