Local Administrator escalation via unchecked named-pipe request
Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Local privilege escalation in FastTrack Admin By Request 6.1.0.0 allows local users to obtain Administrator privileges through its service. The Audckq32.exe service accepts an elevation request over a .NET named pipe without repeating the authorization enforced by AdminByRequest.exe. Any logged-on user who can address the local pipe can bypass configured group-policy permissions and gain full Administrator access.
