CVE-2019-17147Network attack vector

Unauthenticated RCE via Host header overflow

Published Jan 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Buffer overflow in TP-Link TL-WR841N before 0.9.1 4.16 v007c.0 Build 180613 Rel.42415n allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via HTTP. The web service copies an unchecked Host request header into a fixed-length static buffer, enabling code execution in the admin context without authentication; exploitation requires network access to the management service and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
