Stored XSS via Angular sandbox escape
Published Jan 17, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Client-side template injection in SolarWinds Orion Platform 2019.2 HF1 allows remote attackers to execute stored scripts in users' browsers. Affected web forms pass attacker-controlled values to Angular template evaluation, so injected expressions escape the Angular sandbox instead of remaining inert text. No authentication is required, but a user must interact with crafted content; successful execution can read or modify data available to that browser session.
