CVE-2019-17101Public exploit

Command execution via unquoted curl argument

Published Apr 23, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Command injection in Netatmo Smart Indoor Camera before 4.2.5 allows attackers to execute commands through its webserver. The dtg_get_config.sh script passes the user-controlled mac_address value to curl without quoting it, so shell expansion and word splitting create arbitrary curl arguments and permit a file write. Reachability requires the camera's secret local path or account access through its VPN connection, and the written script runs as webserver UID 1000 and GID 3003.
