CVE-2019-17076Network attack vector

File deletion and code execution via JSON deserialization

Published Jan 8, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Unsafe JSON deserialization in Jamf Pro 9.4 through 9.101.4 and 10.0.0 through 10.15.0 allows remote attackers to delete server files. Several API endpoints pass specially crafted request JSON to deserializers without restricting accepted classes or reliably rejecting invalid JSON. No authentication or user interaction is required; affected requests can crash the service, and versions before 10.14.0 also permit remote code execution, while file access is limited to the Jamf Pro process account.
