Unauthenticated reboot via unprotected management endpoint
Published Feb 3, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Missing authentication in TP-Link TP-SG105E V4 1.0.0 Build 20181120 allows remote attackers to reboot the switch via HTTP. The web management service exposes reboot.cgi without an authentication check and honors a POST containing reboot_op=reboot. Network reachability to the management interface is the only reported gate, and successful exploitation interrupts switching service through a device reboot.
