Authentication bypass via oversized password stack overflow
Published Jul 16, 2024 · Updated Aug 12, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in client.so in Ruijie RG-EG2000SE RGOS 11.1(1)B1 allows remote attackers to access any account via login.php. The login handler passes an oversized password value into client.so, which overwrites a stack buffer instead of rejecting the input. Network access to the web interface is required; the crafted request bypasses password verification and establishes account access.
