Authenticated script execution via crafted article body
Published Mar 19, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Stored XSS in OTRS 7.0.11 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in an agent's browser. The application stores an attacker-supplied article body and renders it without adequate script neutralization in the agent reply composer. Exploitation requires an agent or customer account with permission to create the malicious article; an agent must then compose a reply, which runs the payload in that agent's browser and permits actions available to that session.
