Unauthenticated firmware reflash via exposed factory settings
Published Jan 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Insecure defaults in DTEN D5 and D7 firmware before 1.3.4 allow remote attackers to reflash firmware and enable Android Debug Bridge. The factory settings expose firmware-update and ADB controls without requiring authentication, permitting untrusted firmware replacement and activation of a debugging interface. Network reachability to the device is required; reflashing can alter its software, while ADB enablement exposes an administrative path.
