CVE-2019-16153Network attack vector

Database access via hard-coded PostgreSQL credentials

Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Oct 25, 2024

Hard-coded credentials in Fortinet FortiSIEM 5.2.5 and earlier allow remote authenticated users to access the appliance PostgreSQL database. The database component accepts a vendor-defined static password instead of a per-deployment secret. Exploitation requires network reachability to PostgreSQL and knowledge of the embedded credentials; Fortinet reports information disclosure as the impact.
