BGP process restart via malformed EVPN attributes

Denial of service in Cisco IOS XR Software allows remote attackers to restart BGP through malformed EVPN updates. The EVPN implementation incorrectly processes a BGP update containing a malformed EVPN attribute, leaving the fault latent until EVPN operational routes are displayed. Exploitation requires the update to arrive from a configured BGP peer or over its established TCP session and a device user to display route status; success unexpectedly restarts the BGP process and interrupts routing.
