CVE-2019-15983Network attack vector

Administrative file disclosure via SOAP API XXE

Published Jan 6, 2020 · Updated Nov 15, 2024

XML external entity injection in Cisco Data Center Network Manager before 11.3(1) allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files. The SOAP API parses attacker-supplied XML files while permitting external entity expansion, causing entity references to resolve against local files. Administrative privileges in the DCNM application are required, and the demonstrated consequence is file disclosure rather than modification or interruption.
