CVE-2019-15712Network attack vector

Administrator privilege escalation via ignored access profile

Published Jan 23, 2020 · Updated Oct 25, 2024

Improper access control in Fortinet FortiMail 6.2.0, 6.0.0 through 6.0.6, and 5.4.10 and earlier allows administrators to access the web console. The admin webUI fails to enforce the Others permission in the assigned access profile when authorizing web-console access. An authenticated administrator can therefore reach console functions denied by the assigned profile; Fortinet does not disclose the affected handler or request path.
