Administrator command execution via crafted ifconfig input
Published Mar 15, 2020 · Updated Oct 25, 2024
OS command injection in Fortinet FortiAP 6.0.5 and earlier and FortiAP-U before 6.0.0 allows local users to execute system commands. The CLI admin console passes specially crafted ifconfig command input to the underlying system without neutralizing command syntax. Administrator access to the appliance CLI is required, and successful exploitation executes arbitrary commands at the system level.
