Private data disclosure via unfiltered group search
Published Jan 28, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Improper access control in GitLab EE before 12.3.5 allows remote attackers to read private issues and merge requests via group search. The Elasticsearch-backed group search returns indexed issue and merge-request documents without enforcing their private visibility. The flaw is reachable without authentication only when Elasticsearch integration is enabled, and it exposes confidential content without changing data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
