CVE-2019-15126Public exploit

Wi-Fi frame decryption via weak PTK

Published Feb 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024

Information disclosure in Broadcom Wi-Fi client devices allows remote attackers to decrypt limited WPA2 frames via adjacent wireless traffic. After a disassociation event, buffered egress frames are transmitted with a static weak pairwise temporal key, allowing capture and decryption without the session key. The attack requires proximity to the wireless network and frame capture or disassociation injection; exposure is limited to a small number of frames and does not provide key recovery, frame injection, code execution, or integrity compromise.
