Password disclosure via reversible Base64 storage
Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cleartext password storage in Red Hat Business Central 7.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to recover stored user passwords. The errai_security_context stores passwords as reversible Base64 values instead of encrypted ciphertext. Low-privileged authenticated access is required; decoding recovered values exposes credentials but does not alter data or interrupt service.
