NULL pointer dereference in Newlib before 3.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to cause a service interrupt via crafted input. The REENT_CHECK, REENT_CHECK_TM, REENT_CHECK_MISC and REENT_CHECK_MP macros continue execution after allocation failure when DEBUG is unset, allowing null state to reach dereferencing code. Exploitation requires a caller that supplies attacker-controlled data to these macros; the bounded consequence is a process or firmware service crash rather than confidentiality or integrity loss.
