Root command execution via unescaped uninstall input
Published Feb 10, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
OS command injection in Microvirt MEmu before 7.0.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands as root in the Android guest. The root-owned /system/bin/systemd service listening on TCP port 21509 appends data after installer:uninstall to a shell command template without validation or escaping. Network access to the guest port is sufficient, and injected shell metacharacters run commands with root privileges inside the emulated Android system.
