Script execution via unencoded labels and boxes
Published Mar 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Cross-site scripting in LimeSurvey 3.17.7+190627 allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser via crafted box or label values. The label view prints label_name directly into HTML, while PanelBoxWidget inserts title and URL values into HTML attributes without encoding them. A user must view the affected interface; the script then runs in the LimeSurvey origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
