Memory corruption via unchecked MKV atom size
Published Apr 16, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon video processing allows remote attackers to corrupt memory by supplying a crafted MKV clip. The MKV parser accepts an atom size without validating it against destination-buffer capacity, allowing atom data to exceed that buffer. Playback of attacker-controlled media is required; public records do not establish whether the corruption is limited to a crash or permits code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
