Local out-of-bounds memory access via unchecked size
Published Mar 5, 2020 · Updated Aug 5, 2024
Out-of-bounds access in Snapdragon msm routing allows local users to access memory outside a valid buffer through the audio path. The msm routing code accesses a buffer using a size value without first checking that the size remains within its bounds. Local access is required, and Qualcomm has not stated whether the out-of-bounds operation reads or writes memory or which concrete failure mode results.
